SYNC 3 is a fully integrated, voice-activated communications, entertainment and information system. It is available on a wide variety of Ford vehicles. The great benefit of the SYNC 3 infotainment system is that it lets you stay connected, while you keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.

The SYNC 3 infotainment system is a revolutionary way to interact with your Ford vehicle. Its color touchscreen conveniently displays the most-used features with easy-to-read text and icons, right on the home screen. The SYNC 3 screen responds quickly, whether you are tapping, swiping, or pinching to access its many features.

The SYNC 3 Touchscreen Keeps You Connected

You can use the SYNC 3 infotainment system touchscreen to explore and interact with your Ford vehicle. The touchscreen is sensitive and responsive, and requires just a light tap for quick access to its features. You can also use familiar pinch, swipe and slide functions with some screens, just as you do with your smartphone.

The Status Bar: Your Key to Accessing All the Great SYNC 3 Features

The Status bar always appears at the top of the SYNC 3 home screen. Icons and messages may appear here to provide you with notifications. The Status bar icons indicate the current status of various features in your infotainment system. The Status bar may appear slightly different depending on whether certain features are on or off. Touching the home icon will bring you back to the home screen.

Here are some SYNC 3 features that may appear in your Status bar:

·         If your vehicle is equipped with dual temperature controls, two interior temperatures appear.

·         Time can be set in 12 or 24 hours in the Settings menu.

·         Outdoor temperature can be set in Fahrenheit or Celsius in the Settings menu.

·         Microphone is off and can be turned on in the Phone menu.

·         Audio is muted and can be unmuted with the steering wheel controls.

·         Wi-Fi network is available.

·         Cell phone is roaming.

·         Unread text message.

·         911 Assist feature is off and can be reset in the Settings menu.

·         Bluetooth alert.

·         Bluetooth is on.

SYNC 3 Navigation System

If your vehicle is equipped with the SYNC 3 navigation feature, a map of your current location will display on the home screen. If your vehicle is not so equipped, a compass appears on the home screen, and this space displays audio information.

Audio And Entertainment In SYNC 3

If you're listening to your Ford vehicle's audio system, this field will display the source. This can be AM, FM or HD radio, CD, a Bluetooth or USB-connected device, or an app such as Pandora or iHeartRadio.

SYNC 3 Infotainment System Phone Integration

The SYNC 3 phone area shows whether or not a phone is connected. Once a phone is paired and connected these status indicators may appear, depending upon your selections made in the Settings menu:

·         Cell phone signal strength.

·         Cell phone battery level.

·         911 Assist icons reveal whether or not the feature is active.

·         A new text message has been received.

·         The Do Not Disturb feature is on and can be reset in the Settings or Phone menu.
